At the heart of La Condesa is colour ful, soulful food, just like its namesake neighbourhood in Mexico City. “When it comes to Mexican cuisine,” says chef and owner Samantha Valdivia, a native of Cancun who moved to Canada a decade ago, “we break the rules sometimes, like burning food for flavour and frying sauces.” A tradi tional Mexican restaurant specializ ing in super tacos and Margaritas, La Condesa opened in March 2019, and instantly became a much-loved hub of Mexican flavours cooked with County ingredients. “Tortilla soup is great to have over the holidays,” says Valdivia. “It’s a warm way to start the meal, and it’s light enough that you can keep enjoying the holiday feast.” Samantha Valdivia, LaCondesa lacondesarestaurant.com prince edward county, ont.
