LCBO Food & Drink Travel 2026

Take-home Meals Whether you’re staying in the area at a local Airbnb or just want to tuck a dish or two into the cooler for home, pop by:

Tide & Vine Oyster House Niagara Falls Next door to the restaurant, you’ll find their gourmet food store-meets fish and chips shop, covering virtually any seafood craving. Don’t feel up to shucking oysters? They’ll do the work and set you up with all the accoutrements including flaked ice.

WHERE TO STAY Whether you prefer classic or unusual, there’s a wide range of places to stay in Niagara Wine Country. Here’s a small taste of the options for lodging:

The Grove Niagara-on-the-Lake

INN THE ORCHARD, LINCOLN Cabin, container “cabin” or cottage stays with pick-your-own fruit and an onsite sauna and cold plunge.

A great place to gather in-season produce, plus sandwiches, salads, soups, stews and delicious scoops from Hometown Ice Cream.

VINTAGES HOTELS Book Pillar and Post Inn & Spa (Niagara-on the-Lake) when you’re feeling fancy but want to spend your stay in a robe going from room to pool or even fireside in the Bar & Lounge. Also, consider Inn on the Twenty (Jordan) when you’re feeling flush, or tuck into the comforts of the more wallet-friendly Jordan House Tavern & Lodging (Jordan). AIRBNB AND VRBO From a romantic getaway to staying with friends, there are so many options to accommodate your adventure. The bonus is that most bookings offer the opportunity to kick back with food items and a bottle you picked up along the way.

The Pie Plate Virgil

You may be familiar with their incredible desserts, but also consider popping in for frozen pizzas and cookie dough. Also peruse their selection of local and imported goods for all your cheese and charcuterie board needs.

ATTENTION GREEN THUMBS! The Watering Can Flower Market, Vineland and St. Catharines In prime produce season, there are a ton of roadside farm stands for Ontario produce, but, while we wait for the season to arrive, we can get organized by grabbing seedlings at this institution. Even sign up for a creative garden- and plant-themed workshop while you’re at it.

MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME

When I’m travelling with friends, we seek out a spot with a huge kitchen island so the formal dinner can be skipped in favour of unpacking the goods we’ve collected throughout the day and spreading them out for an epic “Charcuterie Island” grazing meal instead.

Ravine Vineyard Estate Winery (St. David’s) opened a newish bakery on weekends; go for the potato chips and focaccia.

Add this destination to any of these suggested itineraries, the closest being the Niagara Stone Road Trip (p. 54).
