GREAT THINGS COME FROM SMALL PRODUCERS WHO WORK WITH PASSION AND PRIDE; HEREWITH THREE MAKERS OF EXCEPTIONAL ONTARIO WINE, SPIRITS AND CIDER WHOSE PRODUCTS ARE WELL WORTH SEEKING OUT. In a world where so many things are outsourced or mass-produced, the artisanal takes on extra value. We prize something unique that is made with passion and integrity, even if it is on a small scale. It means even more if it’s local, from our own community. We’ve had artisanal wineries for decades but the last few years have seen a sudden upsurge in artisanal distilling and craft brewing. We’ve chosen three examples to represent this new enthusiasm—a distillery, a cidery and a meadery—each one offering a story that is as much about dedicated, passionate people as the things they produce.
