Spooky Spirit If you’re looking to get into the spirit with some spooky libations, check out this unique vodka that’s already dressed for Halloween. Distilled in St. John’s, Nfld., Hounds Black Vodka ( LCBO 468736, $35.95) gets its inky colour from an infusion of fulvic minerals and humic acid. And while that may sound like a witch’s brew, it’s clean, smooth and citrusy and can lend its dramatic hue to any vodka-based drink, from a Martini to a Cape Codder. For people who don’t eat gluten—whether it’s by choice or for medical reasons—a giant bowl of fragrant stuffing can cause acute Thanksgiving envy. Fortunately stuffing doesn’t have to be made from bread.
