TreeWare WoodWorks Ottawa’s John Ward has mastered the tradi- tional method of wood-turning, while trans- forming his hobby into a full-time career. Each of his one-of-a-kind candlesticks ($80 to $105) is made from locally sourced ash and hand- turned then ebonized, pickled or stained grey. He has shared his wood- working techniques with his two sons and they now work together in their studio in Tamworth, Ont., filling orders from around the world.
