Fall is a great time to celebrate all things Ontario, and our roundup of local wines offers all the quality and variety you could want for any occasion, big or small.

Pumpkin spice and everything nice An iconic, autumnal pumpkin pie deserves an iconic Ontario wine to go with it and few are as celebrated as the legendary Inniskillin Vidal Icewine VQA (VINTAGES ESSENTIALS 388306, 375 mL, $49.95). Tropical fruit flavours are supported by bright acidity, making this an ideal partner to sweet spice. Vermouth usually plays a supporting role in cocktails and is typically considered an aperitif, but Dillon’s Vermouth (VINTAGES ESSENTIALS 571133, $19.95, shown on page 24) is complex enough to be served on its own and sweet enough to offset a local Ontario cheese plate or a bursting apple pie.
