DRINK BEER
CAN DO! MORE AND MORE CRAFT BREWERS ARE USING CANS, WHICH OFFER BETTER SHELF LIFE, MORE OPPORTUNITY FOR EYE-CATCHING LABELS AND LET YOU EASILY TRY OUT NEW BEERS, MIXING AND MATCHING SINGLE-SERVING PURCHASES. BY JAMES CHATTO
Ninety-nine cans of beer on the wall… It doesn’t sound the same as “99 bottles,” does it? But to most beer lovers and every brewer I’ve ever spoken to, it’s an improvement. The case for beer cans over bottles is clear. There’s no light or air in a can to spoil the beer. Cans weigh less, are easier to stack, are better for recycling and don’t shatter. And beer from a can doesn’t taste metallic—an aqueous polymer liner prevents it even touching metal. But don’t take my word for it. Read on to hear what a cou- ple of top Canadian craft brewers have to say about the matter—and to find some prime examples of great craft beer—in cans! IMAGE COPYRIGHT BRITT CHUDLEIGH/OFFSET.COM
