One of the joys of inventing sangrias is experimenting with wine varietals and then deciding how best to pair their tastes. With vinho verde (which literally means “young wine” in Portuguese), we looked for a bit of a spicy kick to balance the fresh acidity, with fabulous results. recipe on page 152
