DO Last summer, the restaurant Canned Heat opened at the County’s most popular winery, Burning Kiln. Choose from wood-fired pizza, salads and seasonal, locally grown fare from a converted railcar and served on the winery’s patio, perched high above a lush green valley. Friday Afternoon? Hit the Port Rowan Farmers’ Market in the town’s harbour for snacks and the best farm-fare from chickens to smoked trout to cherries and peaches. Down the road in a converted 1960s school is New Limburg Brewing Company ( 2 ), which makes some of the finest Belgian ales in Canada. For cider, head to Hounds of Erie Winery ( 3 ), a pup-friendly place that infuses its heirloom ciders with estate-grown fruits and florals.
