HOST YOUR FIRST EVER CHRISTMAS DINNER WITH EASE; EVERY BIT OF THIS TRADITIONAL MENU WITH MODERN TASTES—FROM PUNCH TO TURKEY TO DESSERT— IS DELECTABLE AND OH SO DOABLE! BY CHRISTOPHER ST. ONGE  •  PHOTOGRAPHY BY ROB FIOCCA christmas dinner premiere

YOUR FIRST CHRISTMAS DINNER can be a seriously nerve-wracking affair. There are more than a few things to consider, not the least of which is living up to everyone’s fond- est memories of holiday dinners past. It’s prob- ably best to forge new but familiar traditions with a menu that reminds everyone that you’re doing things your own delicious way. Forget about that giant turkey that needs a soothsayer to predict when it might be done! We’ve got

something just as good that only needs to be slipped into the oven after everyone’s arrived, instead of hours before. And that dastardly rich Christmas pudding, often too much to bear after an enormous feast, is instead served in the form of a cool and delicious punch long before you’ve had too much. Be sure to follow all of the make-ahead tips and, by the time din- ner is done, you might be ready to make this new tradition an enduring one.
