Tiered tray of treats A PRETTY TIERED TRAY is the perfect showcase for a spread of sweet and savoury bite-sized snacks. When choosing what to make, recipe developer Heather Trim suggests aiming for variety. “Make sure to get a good mix of tastes, textures, shapes and styles, such as cookies versus squares and baked versus raw,” she says. Select at least some recipes that can be made ahead or even frozen, she adds, to simplify planning, and try to have a little something for everyone. “For the savouries, consider a vegetarian option, and for the sweets—chocolate is a must.” To make planning easy, Heather has selected six fav ourite Food & Drink recipes available online for your tray. For savouries, she suggests Mini Shrimp Tacos (1), Fig & Pista- chio Devils on Horseback (2), and Mushroom Tarts (3), made bite-sized. For sweets, Alfajores (4) are easy to make in a selection of flavours such as lemon curd. Gooey, nutty Butterscotch Pecan Bars (5) are always a crowd-pleaser and can be cut to size. And Chocolate Toffee Swirl Mini Cheesecakes (6) will satisfy the chocoholics on your guest list.
