Kentucky Bonfire

This punch-style cocktail can be made in batches to serve a crowd, and with its pleasing, warm tones, guestswill be coming back formore. Bourbon, port, citrus and vanilla combined with sparkling wine bring the festivities to life. To a wine glass with ice, add ½ oz bourbon, ½ oz port, ½ oz lemon juice, ½ oz Simple Syrup (recipe page 215) and a dash of bitters. Top with 4 oz sparkling wine and gar- nish with a vanilla bean and a lemon twist. Makes 1 drink FOR A CROWD To a pitcher or punch bowl, add ½ cup (125 mL) bourbon, ½ cup (125 mL) port, ½ cup (125 mL) lemon juice, ½ cup (125 mL) Simple Syrup (recipe page 215) and 4 dashes bit- ters. Top with 4 cups (1 L) sparkling wine and add a vanilla bean. Pour into glasses with ice. Garnish each with a lemon twist. Makes approx. 8 drinks
