COMING IN FROM THE COLD

There’s nothing more inviting after a busy winter day than coming home to a hearty pre-prepped supper that needs only to be assembled, cooked and served—to oohs and aahs.
HERE’S A thought-provoking question. What is more satisfying: the actual dish of tasty food or the pleasure of it being ready when you arrive home? If this is a busy season for you, then it might be a pretty close tie. After a chilly day of outdoor fun or an exhausting day of working, shop- ping or decorating, you’ll be happy to have a meal that is ready to go. With a few last-minute touches these five
dishes can be ready to enjoy shortly after walking through the door. All the recipes can be prepared up to two days in advance, and then “finished off” when you’re ready to eat. From a homey dumpling soup to a luxurious chicken and sultana-studded b’stilla, these simple-to-make recipes are sure to fit the bill. With a little time invested beforehand, coming in from the cold will never have felt so good.
