Feeling like a bit of a splurge? Or are you just looking for a wine for every­ day drinking? Our

latest mixed case offers examples of both. We’ve chosen six different vari­ etals that have roles to play during the festive season, then selected a high-end bottle and a less pricey star that delivers a big bang for your buck. Sometimes the two wines are in very dif­ ferent styles—as with our Chardonnays—but sometimes they’re aim­ ing at the same target. In which case it can be instructive to taste both of them, blind, side by side. Will the expensive wine always please you more? It’s a good way to explore your own tastes and preferences.
