Brandy is back
Brandy is a broad category of spirits that are distilled from fruit—from apples and grapes to pears and plums. Centuries ago, wine was heated and concentrated to remove some water for efficient export. This primitive “brandywine” was stored in wooden barrels and lengthy shipping times revealed the delicious effects of oak maturation. Still made in many distinct styles around the world today, brandy is part of howmany cultures traditionally celebrate and an iconic holiday sipping and cocktail spirit.
Once upon a time, it was the spirit of choice come the holiday season. From artisanal versions to unexpected flavour twists, brandy is trending again and is ready for a starring role in cocktails and to add rich flavours to your cooking.
