LCBO Food & Drink Spring 2017

MISTER Misters (a.k.a. atomizers) first ap- peared decades ago during the arms race to create the driest possible Martini without drinking straight gin. “Just a spritz of ver- mouth, if you please.” The craft cocktail movement has embraced misters once again, but this time to apply aromatic garnishes. Use it to spray Pernod (as we have done here) for a fragrant hit of anise, or mist a Manhattan with peaty Islay scotch for a whiff of smoke. There are a number of models, but since real estate on home bars is usually at a premium, we like this svelte gold number. Vermouth Mister, $10; thecraftybartender.com.
