LEMONADE COCKTAILS ARE JUST THE THING FOR SUMMERTIME BACKYARD PARTIES AND BARBECUES.

WHEN THE BAROMETER RISES, there are few drinks that refresh like an ice-cold glass of lemon ade. Riffing on the lip-smacking combination of lemon, sugar and water, we’ve created five fabulous cocktails with the same sweet-sour appeal. Whether you’re a beer drinker or prefer rum, we’ve got some- thing for everyone’s tastes.     On the lighter side, there is a simple, thirst- quenching radler of homemade rosemary-lemon soda and pilsner. For easy entertaining, whip up a pitcher of Mojito limeade infused with zippy

ginger syrup and fresh, fragrant mint. When local peaches hit the market, fire up the ’cue for a sum- mery Whisky Sour of grilled peaches, maple syrup and lemon juice. Finally, bust out the blender and try one of our frozen cocktails. There’s a Latin twist on pink lemonade with watermelon, tequila and the smoky bite of chipotle pepper. Or sip a slushy spin on the Hot Toddy—a not toddy, if you will—of Irish whiskey, Earl Grey tea and honey. Whether you’re on the dock, deck or balcony, make spiked lemon- ade your go-to drink this summer.
