Meatless grills If you’ve got vegetarians in the house clamouring for a BBQ—or if you’re down for a meatless choice yourself—these plant-based grilling options are so delicious even carnivores won’t miss the meat.

Cauliflower steaks have had their turn over fire—and we’ve lost a few florets to the flames. Celeriac, though, really does cook (and eat!) like a steak. Topped with a salad of crisped kale and a punchy vinaigrette, it can be just as satisfying as one, too. And because all that veg doesn’t sit quite as heavily, you can start things off with little skewers featuring local fruit and salty cheese. A platter of rib-sticking polenta and soft, buttery fennel is the ultimate veg-forward comfort food. And for those missing their burgers, a little sleight-of-hand with grapes and rapini will have even dedicated meat- eaters feeling virtuous, full and convinced.
