SEASONAL SENSATIONS

BROCK STREET BREWING COMPANY, WHITBY The Dreamers

Four long-time friends Mark Woitzik, Chris Vanclief, Scott Pepin and Victor Leone, who shared a passion for home-brewing, came together to open Brock Street in 2014. As they expanded their craft beer business, they also wanted to create ready-to-drink canned cocktails. It took almost two years to develop a vodka soda that the partners felt was the perfect one.

MEET THE MAKERS For Woitzik (second from right), the president, starting a business in Whitby, where he was born

and raised, was personal. In 1991, he broke his neck

in an accident and became a

quadriplegic. “The community love and support we received was incredible,” he recalls. “My wife and I were so grateful. One of the legacies we wanted to leave was a downtown landmark.” Woitzik and his partners made that a reality by locating their company on the town’s main drag, Brock Street.

Brock Street Raspberry Lemon Vodka Soda (LCBO 24327, 473 mL, $2.95) is truly fruit-forward. Ripe Ontario raspberries, a pleasant hit of citrus and triple-distilled vodka (made on-site) unite in a

refreshing, gluten-free beverage. Pour the soda into a tall glass, garnish it with frozen raspberries and serve it with Raspberry Ripple Panna Cotta (recipe at lcbo.com/ fdsummer22).
