Disco Drinks! Disco was way more than a dance craze. It was a sound, a look and, for many, a lifestyle with a totally modern vibe that defined the decade and reinvented all things nightlife—including cocktails. Disco drinks were tall, juicy, bright and made from unusual ingredients and bold spirits that had never managed to find their way into classic cocktail books before the 1970s. Best of all, this new generation of drinks came in all colours of the rainbow: brilliant blue, Day-Glo red, emerald green and marigold orange, the latter of which was one of the most popular shades on the dance floor.

FUN FACT The Tequila Sunrise rose to fame as Mick Jagger’s favourite cocktail. The Rolling Stones even added a contract rider stipulating that their dressing rooms needed to be stocked with plenty of orange juice, grenadine and tequila, the Sunrise’s ingredients.
