LCBO Food & Drink Summer 2025

INSIDE SCOOP

WHAT’S NEW Gin Style

If you want to add a twist to your favourite gin-based cocktail, there are a number of exciting flavoured gins that recently hit the LCBO shelves. Whether you prefer G&Ts or Gimlets, here are three fresh offerings.

LIGHTEN UP! Hayman’s London Light Gin

(LCBO 42342, 700 mL, $29.95) All the citrusy, piney flavour of Hayman’s classic London dry gin, but less than a third of the alcohol.

TRENDSPOTTING White Wine Martini

When our Food Editor Eric Vellend heard about swapping in white wine for vermouth in a Martini, he was both intrigued and a little skeptical. Using different ratios, gins and grape varietals, he spent weeks testing 16 variations before landing on a winning, all-local formula. Taste the results in his White Wine Martini (p. 115).

Empress Cucumber Lemon Gin LCBO 42338, $50.20

Porcelain Shanghai Mandarin Dry Gin

Citadelle Gin Le Jardin d’Été LCBO 19409, $36.35 Inspired by a summer garden, this French gin is flavoured with Charentais melon and a trio of citrus.

LCBO 42695, 700 mL, $64.95 Packaged in a gorgeous porcelain bottle, this gin is deeply infused with fragrant mandarin peels.

Made in Victoria; expect notes of fresh cucumber, citrus and a beguiling hint of jasmine.
