Choosing local wines benefits both the environment and local economy. Sustainable Winegrowing Ontario Certified It is always a more-sustainable choice for Ontarians to buy local Ontario VQA wines, but some wineries have taken their commitment to the next level by producing certified sustainable wines. These wineries and growers participate in a third-party audit to track things like water and energy e¯ciencies to help measure impact on their community and the environment. Producers of certified sustainable wines and the growers who cultivate their vineyards are caretakers of the land, committed community partners, climate action leaders and advocates for social equity and diversity. By practising environmentally responsible and sustainable approaches in both vineyards and wineries, they ensure that the communities they serve, the land they farm and their businesses remain healthy and viable for future generations.

Look for the SWO logo on labels to determine whether the VQA wine is certified sustainable.
