LCBO Food & Drink Travel 2026

St Catharines

On the way to wine country, all (well, most) roads head through this food-destination city. Check out these hot spots for an outstanding bite to eat:

Avondale Dairy Bar Niagara-on-the-Lake The kitsch factor alone makes this 70-year-old ice creamery worth a stop. The ice cream is great, and they don’t skimp on the whipped cream. Plus, their playlists keep it old-school cool. Open spring through fall; check their social pages for daily operating hours. 5. BEECHWOOD DOUGHNUTS For those doughnut lovers that seek out interesting flavours and sky-high toppings. 6. DI’S PIZZA PIES Who wouldn’t love a spot that’s dedicated to both pizza pies and sweet treats?! 7. 13TH STREET WINERY While their famous butter tarts usually steal the thunder, their outdoor sculpture garden and house-made salsa also make a stop worthwhile. 8. PHARMACII RESTAURANT BAR Head here for inventive dishes and next-level cocktails. When in the area also check out Fat Rabbit (see p. 100 for more info).

1. LES INCOMPETENTS Self-described as a French-ish bar with cocktails, food and wine, this new restaurant is brought to us by an all-star team, including Fat Rabbit and Dillon’s Small Batch Distillers alums. 2. BRINDLE FOOD CO. Get standout cortados, impeccable pastries and delightful sandwiches. 3. ODDBIRD They offer it all: a great drinks list, caviar service and foie gras dishes, plus fried chicken in sandwiches and by the bucket. Try their sister restaurant, oddBar, for pizza and brews.
