It’s worth leaving your beach chair to grab a box of perfectly crisped, hand-cut fries at this mom-and-pop- run, fast-food legend, Gerry’s Fast Food on the beach. Head over to Offshore Bakery early if you want to try the Bruce Potato, a French cruller filled with sweet custard. Locals shop at Hi-Berry Farm on Highway 21 for produce grown only on the 20-acre family farm. With asparagus, strawberries, honey, kohlrabi and much more, Hi-Berry’s shop is not to be missed. There are way too many tennis courts for a town of its size! Get a day pass to the Southampton Tennis Club and play like a local on one of its 15 courts. Try a day trip! Swim in the aqua-blue grotto or visit the Flower Pot islands off the tip of Tobermory, or hit up the permanent party on Sauble Beach. Outlaw Brew Co. is housed in a former hotel, and this year owner Deborah Leon opened the second floor after lovingly restoring each room. Go to the brewery’s website for the booking link. DO MacGregor Point Provincial Park boasts a rugged private beach, an interpretative nature centre, and lots of flat biking trails. Camping at its best. EAT
Saugeen River. But, unlike The Hamptons, this Ontario town is down-to-earth and family- friendly. It’s home to some of Ontario’s classic and newest breweries alike, offering a true taste of the province.

In nearby Owen Sound, railway geeks will love sipping brews in Mudtown Station Brewery and Restaurant ( 2 ), an old-school railway station with original décor, which serves up a stellar weekend brunch. Or head to Kincardine to taste fruit- infused sours and bready lagers from Grey Matter Beer Company ( 3 ).
