LANGHE IN THE 416
This May, Toronto plays host to the 2026 Barolo & Barbaresco World Opening , where some 160 producers will debut their latest wines.
These visitors come from the Langhe: a section of Piedmont in northern Italy whose hillside vineyards are so uniquely beautiful and historically significant that they’ve been made a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Langhe is best known for stately, long-lived Barolo and Barbaresco made from the Nebbiolo grape. But it’s also home to soft, tangy Barbera d’Alba (from the Barbera grape) and elegantly bitter-tinged Dogliani (from the Dolcetto grape). This trio of wines offers a taste of the region before the big event.
