This wine is made from Sauvignon Blanc vinified and matured in French oak. It’s citrusy and moreish, with tangy acidity and a subtle hint of sweetness. LEANING POST THE FIFTY CHARDONNAY 2024 6 VQA Niagara Peninsula, vegan

HINTERBROOK NOMAD MERLOT 2022 6 VQA Niagara Lakeshore, Niagara-on-the-Lake

This bright, elegant Chardonnay was vinified and aged on the lees in concrete and comprises 63% fruit from Hemeris Vineyard in Beamsville Bench with the remainder from Grimsby Hillside Vineyard in Lincoln Lakeshore. It showcases orange blossom, lemon curd, nectarine and pineapple, with undertones of spice and wet stones. Savour through 2032 with fried zucchini blossoms, lemon-roasted chicken or sole meunière. The 2022 vintage produced stellar red wines but saw a reduced crop due to some inclement weather, which hit Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot the hardest. The wines are gorgeous, but there’s not as much 2022 around as we would like. This wine saw 24 months in barrel and is smooth and generous, with red fruit, plum, herbs, oak spice, licorice, and French vanilla tones.
