This wine has its own light, the flowers and black cherries from Altamira appear on the nose and are savored on the palate, along with a bright acidity that moves, refreshing everything in its path. This is a cheer ful, vibrant wine with energetic flavors. A new school malbec to accompany steak tartare. SUR DE LOS ANDES RESERVA MALBEC Mendoza

The 2023 Malbec Reserva Sur de los Andes was aged in a combination of French oak barrel and concrete tank. It’s expressive and straightforward, with precise notes of plum and cherry, and a balsamic hint over soft oak tones. Indulgent, full and creamy, it has an enveloping palate that finishes with clear fruit. This is a well-made crowd-pleaser. Drinking window: 2025-2034. Susana Balbo is one of the great references in Argentina when it comes to cabernet sauvignon, especially that fresh and minty style that speaks of the mountains. This comes from calcareous soils of Gualtallary, in the north of the Uco Valley and shows an herbal nose, with minty tones and a background of tart black fruits that pro vides complexity. The palate has firm and juicy tannins full of fruity flavors and a combination of fresh notes that remind us of the soft Andean breeze. A must-try.
