GURJAANI OLD MARANI KINDZMARAULI RED Kakheti This supple, o -dry red has a pretty if not intense nose of blueberry/cherry compote with violet and oak spice/toast. It is quite tender and fresh despite the sweetness. Alcohol is modest at 12% creating that sense of tenderness. Tannins are chalky and ripe; the length is very good. The finish is a bit pasty. Kindzmarauli, Kakheti This wine is made from 100% Saperavi: a late ripening grape and one of the few whose pulp and flesh, as well as its skin, are red. Apostolos Thymiopoulos has had an astonishing role in establishing modern Greece’s international reputation, particularly through his revolutionary work with Xinomavro in Naoussa.
