LA POSTA ARMANDO BONARDA 2023 Mendoza, sustainable (Created by Laura Catena, grown by Estela Armando) The 2023 Bonarda Armando, made from grapes grown in Guaymallén, Mendoza opens with notes of raspberry and fresh black fruit, complemented by a light touch of balsamic herbs. It is plush in texture, with slightly active tannins. A juicy mid- palate and fruit flavors lead to a pleasant finish. Good value. Drinking window: 2025-2034. Score: 91 (Joaquín Hidalgo, vinous.com, April 24, 2025) Medium-bodied & Fruity 261586 (XD) 750 ml $16.95 2 SUSANA BALBO SIGNATURE MALBEC 2022 Valle de Uco, Mendoza, unfined and unfiltered (Dominio del Plata) This wine was first released in 1999 and it has always been a selection of Altamira vineyards in the Uco Valley. An ample, succulent malbec with ripe black-fruit flavors and sweet-spice tones, with round and expansive tannins that fill the palate. It was aged in oak barrels (70% used, 30% new) for 13 months, and that’s evident in the sweet tones that spread across the palate. A generous, exuberant red. VENTISQUERO GREY SINGLE BLOCK CARMENÈRE 2022 Trinidad Vineyard, DO Valle del Maipo Part of the good value Grey range from Ventisquero, this is very much a coastal style of Carmenère, showing freshness, brightness and welcome restraint. Graphite and bay leaf aromas segue into a layered, detailed palate with bramble and red cherry fruit, fine tannins and racy acidity. Drink date: 2025-2030. 3 RINGS CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2023 Barossa Valley, South Australia This is splendidly ripe and enticing on the nose with cassis, cigar, Asian spice and stylish oak aromas on the nose. The palate displays excellent concentration and plush texture, wonderfully framed by layers of fine tannins, finishing structured and persistent. At its best: now to 2033. There’s a raspberry edge to the fruit this year. Under that you’ll find satsuma plum, blueberry and boysenberry with layers of spice and hints of biltong, dried citrus rind, citrus blossom, gingerbread, char siu and warm earth.
