NUITON-BEAUNOY BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR 2023 AOC, Burgundy, France, sustainable 556456 (XD) 750 ml $24.95 2 Sourced from 20-year-old vines planted in clay and limestone, this wine offers up sharply defined red cherry, redcurrant, blackberry, blackcurrant, and savoury herbs, with an evocative but delicate smoke note. Quite fine, silky and structured, it’s perfect for grilled duck breast. Drink through 2028. MONTES ALPHA SPECIAL CUVÉE CARMENÈRE 2022 DO Valle de Colchagua, Chile 42098 (XD) 750 ml $24.95 2 A very ripe, delicious carmenere that shows lots of paprika, blackberries, tobacco ashes, tapenade, subtle dark chocolate and graphite. Super silky and opulent on the palate with melted tannins that extend to a lengthy finish. Lots of pleasure here. Hedonistic but never over the top. Carmenere with 5% merlot and 5% cabernet franc.
