SANTA ALICIA GRAN RESERVA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2022 Valle del Maipo

MONTGRAS INTRIGA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2021 DO Valle del Maipo, sustainable, vegan Intriga has been produced since the 2005 vintage, always based on vineyards planted some 70 years ago in the Linderos zone. The base is cabernet sauvignon (this year 88% of the final blend) along with 7% cabernet franc, and the rest is petit verdot. It was aged for 17 months in barrels and foudres, and the result is a classic example of the variety, but as it is in Maipo, with its accent on herbs and candied red fruit. The palate is tense, with firm tannins and juicy acidity in a wine that took advantage of a cool year like 2021 to offer pure sense of place. Score: 95 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2024) Full-bodied & Firm 57901 (XD) 750 ml $23.95 2 Piedra Seca is a selection of vineyards and barrels from the 160 hectares of cabernet sauvignon (plus 5% petit verdot and 3% cabernet franc this year in the blend) that Pérez Cruz has planted in the Huelquén area, at the foot of the first foothills of the Andes, in what is known as Alto Maipo. In a warm season like 2023, the fruits predominate over the herbal notes, and there are ripe and slightly sweet red fruits. The tannins are firm and muscular. One for aging or for grilled ribs. [Will evolve into mid-2030s.] Score: 93 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2025) Full-bodied & Firm 36167 (XD) 750 ml $22.95 2 SAN PEDRO 1865 TAYÚ PINOT NOIR 2024 DO Valle del Malleco Another exciting pinot noir from San Pedro that’s one of the best from Chile. Iron, grapefruit, red berries, fine herbs and minerals on the nose. Tight and nicely austere, with a medium to full body and a very chewy finish. I love the tightness of the tannins. Drink from 2026. Score: 94 (Zekun Shuai, jamessuckling.com, April 14, 2025) Medium-bodied & Fruity 16628 (XD) 750 ml $23.95 2 PEREZ CRUZ PIEDRA SECA CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2023 DO Maipo Andes, sustainable

SANTA CAROLINA RESERVA DE FAMILIA SELECTED CASKS AGED 18 MONTHS CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2020 DO Valle de Cachapoal, sustainable

We often hear about the qualities of the cabernet from Alto Maipo, but much less about the cabernet from Alto Cachapoal. Take a look at this example of an Andean red to get a sense of the potential there. It comes from vineyards planted in the late 1990s on alluvial soils rich in stones and gravel, which is ideal for the variety. It doesn’t have the mentholated aromas of its neighbors in Maipo, but rather offers lots of red fruit and herbal notes. The palate is juicy, the tannins are intense and still very young, and the sensation of fruity flavors fills the mouth. Score: 94 (Patricio Tapia, guiadescorchados.cl, 2023) Full-bodied & Smooth 49479 (XD) 750 ml $28.95 2 Online & Flagship Exclusive
