THIERRY DELAUNAY TOURAINE SAUVIGNON BLANC 2024 AOP Touraine is often referred to as “the garden of France” for its beautiful landscapes and picturesque châteaux. The Delaunay family have made wine here for five generations, and their Sauvignon Blancs are benchmark examples of the local style. This one will have a lively mix of gooseberry, citrus and stony mineral, with some exotic flashes of tropical fruit. Aromatic & Flavourful 391847 (XD) 750 ml $17.95 2 RHÔNE CHÂTEAU LA NERTHE CHÂTEAUNEUF DU-PAPE BLANC 2023 AOC I loved the 2023 Châteauneuf Du Pape Blanc, an absolute banging white that has ripe citrus and honeyed, spicy nuances in its medium-bodied, wonderfully pure, focused profile. A blend of 44% Roussanne, 41% Grenache Blanc, 11% Clairette, and 4% Bourboulenc, it shows the softer style of the vintage and brings plenty of fruit while staying balanced, focused, and light on its feet. It’s a brilliant wine, and I suspect it will age gracefully over the coming decade or more. Maturity: 2024- 2034.
