THE NEW RELEASE COLLECTION
FRANCE – RED WINE CONT’D BURGUNDY MARIE BOUTHENET BOURGOGNE HAUTES-CÔTES DE BEAUNE 2022 AOC
HALOS DE JUPITER CÔTES DU RHÔNE 2023 AOP (Philippe Cambie & Michel Gassier)
The 2023 Côtes Du Rhône brings a touch more richness and depth over the 2022, with sweet red and blue fruit as well as peppery herbs, violets, and some sappy garrigue-like aromas and flavors. I love its overall balance, and it’s medium to full- bodied, with solid tannins and tons of charm and character. Score: 90-92 (jebdunnuck.com, Oct. 29, 2024) Full-bodied & Smooth 276956 (XD) 750 ml $18.95 2
Hautes-Côtes de Beaune is a subregion of Burgundy and is located to the west of the Côte de Beaune subregion. This elegant wine spent 12 months in oak and evokes spiced cherry and blackcurrant, with a structured finish. Drink through 2028. Medium-bodied & Fruity 45273 (XD) 750 ml $54.95 2 Online & Flagship Exclusive
J.L. CHAVE SÉLECTION SILÈNE CROZES-HERMITAGE 2023 AOC
LANGUEDOC GÉRARD BERTRAND AN 806 CORBIÈRES 2021 AOP
Leading off the reds, the 2023 Crozes-Hermitage Silene reveals a terrific bouquet of red and black fruits, gamy herbs, violets, and pepper. Medium- bodied, juicy, and nicely textured on the palate, it has solid minerality and a darker, earthy, granitic character that almost reminds me of a Saint Joseph. This rock-solid effort will drink nicely for 7-8 years. Drink 2025-2033. Score: 92 (jeb dunnuck.com, May 9, 2025) Full-bodied & Smooth 387332 (XD) 750 ml $41.95 2 Online & Flagship Exclusive
A medium- to full-bodied red with dark cherries, plums, black currants, Mediterranean herbs and sweet spices. Fine tannins coat the juicy and textured palate with a dense, more compact finish. Grenache, syrah and mourvedre. Try after 2024. Score: 92 (jamessuckling.com, Nov. 20, 2023) Medium-bodied & Fruity 394288 (XD) 750 ml $18.95 2
RHÔNE CLOS ST. MICHAEL M M CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE 2022 AOP (Franck & Olivier Mousset) A serious, brooding, herbal style. Smooth,
LA CHEVALIÈRE RASTEAU 2023 AOP (Les Grandes Serres)
approachable, medium-bodied. Tannins are well buffed, slightly powdery. The acidity is in balance, as is the alcohol. Mouvedre makes itself known with a little animal note and a certain density, which should add to the ageing potential. Fermented and aged in concrete only. Drinking window: 2028-2041. Score: 93 (Matt Walls, decanter.com, Sept. 18, 2023) Medium-bodied & Fruity 47330 (XD) 750 ml $67.95 3 Online & Flagship Exclusive
Wines sourced from the red marl and sandstone soils of the small village of Rasteau typically exhibit a ripe, red-fruit-driven flavour, with a touch of garrigue and dried herbs on the finish. This example will be delicious tonight with a roasted lamb shoulder in rosemary, garlic and thyme. Medium-bodied & Fruity 18502 (XD) 750 ml $23.95 2
