The nose is very perfumed, with aromas of white peach, honeysuckle, pink grapefruit and raw hazelnuts. On the palate, lemons accentuate the grapefruit element to create a tart citrus feel, but the stone fruit remains dense, honeyed and ultra fresh for balance. This wine is a classic take on Primitivo (a.k.a. Zinfandel) from Manduria, where it’s a specialty. Boldly styled and robust, it’s bursting with wild berries, rose petals and aromatic herbs, with a long, balanced finish. Pour with polenta in meat sauce, grilled sausages or aged cheeses.
