TORNATORE ETNA BIANCO 2024 DOC Tornatore is one of the larger wineries among dozens on the north slope of Mt. Etna. Made from the local carricante grape, this is a hefty yet streamlined white with a complex and well integrated nose of almost tropical guava and olive overlaid with the flinty/smoky aromas of Etna’s volcanic soils. Almost peppery as well. It is a full bodied fairly dense and serious white with girth and length. Really solid and well balanced with excellent length. Tasted March 2024. Straw yellow with green reflections. Tropical fruits such as papaya, passion fruit and grassy notes on the nose. Nice and dry on the palate with some citrus fruit and light savouriness. Medium finish and good acidity that suggests another glass to drink. This wine is 100% Garganega Veronese. Its fine structure and texture come from the lees contact that follows its fermentation in stainless steel. A fresh, tangy wine, with pear, peach, tropical fruit, subtle herbal and vanilla tones, and a characteristic almond note. Great for barbecued seafood. ITALY – RED WINE ABRUZZO ZACCAGNINI TRALCETTO MONTEPULCIANO D’ABRUZZO 2022 DOC Founded in 1978, Zaccagnini makes wines that are immediately recognizable on the shelf; they’re the ones with the small piece of grapevine cutting attached to the neck of the bottle. As for what’s in the bottle, expect to encounter ripe dark fruit, black- berry, cassis, cedar and spice. This will be a reliable food wine that will work with meaty pasta dishes
