THE NEW RELEASE COLLECTION

AUSTRALIA – RED WINE

WYNNS COONAWARRA ESTATE BLACK LABEL CABERNET SAUVIGNON Coonawarra, South Australia, 68th vintage ... Even in relatively challenging cool, wet years like 2023 there is no denying the Black Label stamp: a deep concentration of ripe black fruit and spices in sync with some pretty smart oak. The ’23 vintage does bring a finer expression of Cabernet, less obvious mint and eucalypt than usual and more gentle florals and light herbals. Blackberry, cassis, black cherry, violet, briar, anise, dried leaf, crushed herbs – fresh and lively – work in harmony with French oak (30% new) to present a fully integrated youngster. Firm, fine tannins, as always, o‡er a seamless undercurrent, driving the wine long. As for drinking windows? Why not start tonight. Drink by: 2025-2043. Score: 95 (Jeni Port, winepilot.com, April 2025) Full-bodied & Firm 84996 (XD) 750 ml $44.95 2

FARMER’S LEAP PILLAR BOX RED Padthaway, South Australia A wine that punches well above its weight. Brooding black fruits of damson plum, elder berries and fig skin. There is an alluring spice box of kampot pepper, black sesame and caraway seed. The steep upturn of acidity builds slowly over time, and the trail of firm but powdery tannins carries the flavours on. It’s a very tidy little wine; buy as much as you can! Drink by: 2029. Special Value. Score: 92 (Shanteh Wale, winecompanion.com.au, May 19, 2025) Full-bodied & Smooth 685941 (XD) 750 ml $18.95 2 GOMERSAL SHIRAZ Barossa Valley, South Australia Beautifully ripe and fragrant, showing black berry, sweet cherry, fennel, and cedar characters on the nose. Score: 93 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Aug. 2025) Full-bodied & Smooth 49383 (XD) 750 ml $17.95 2 Featured as our Wine of the Month
