FRANCE • RED WINE CONT’D BEAUJOLAIS VINCENT DE LA REMONDIÈRE MORGON CRU DU BEAUJOLAIS „ AOC

RHÔNE CHÂTEAU DE NAGES JT AOC Costières de Nîmes (Famille Gassier)

The 2022 Costières de Nîmes JT is based on 75% Syrah, 17% Grenache, and 8% Mourvèdre that saw roughly one-third whole cluster brought up in two-thirds barrels and one-third tank. Ripe red and black berries, candied violets, pepper, and incense notes all define the aromatics, and it’s medium-bodied, with a broad, layered, supple mouthfeel, sweet tannins, and a great finish. It’s going to shine over the coming 8-10 years. Maturity: 2025-2035. Score: 92 (jebdunnuck.com, Feb. 21, 2025) Full-bodied & Smooth 736876 (XD) 750 ml $29.95 2

Morgon, with its blue stone and granite soils, is the largest and perhaps most well-known of the Beaujolais crus and much beloved for the intensity and richness of its wines. This one is delicately floral with ripe red cherry and raspberry alongside subtle spice tones. Silky and vibrant, it’s a charmer for sure. Light-bodied & Fruity 48638 (XD) 750 ml $22.95 1 BURGUNDY MAISON ROCHE DE BELLENE CUVÉE RÉSERVE BOURGOGNE PINOT NOIR AOC This entry-level expression is sourced from plots in Côte Chalonnaise, Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits-Villages. It’s youthful and fresh, with considerable depth to its notes of cherry, oak spice and earth. Always an appealing, charming wine. Try it with grilled pork. Medium-bodied & Fruity 299859 (XD) 750 ml $30.95 2 LANGUEDOC GÉRARD BERTRAND AN ‡ CORBIÈRES GRENACHE/SYRAH/ MOURVÈDRE AOP This wine is intriguingly lively and reserved at the same time. Muddled blueberry and black plum mingle with mushroom and dried strawberry on the nose. A chalky palate of pomegranate and dried red cherry leads into a finish of wet stone and crushed shells. Best Buy. Score: 91 (Reggie Solomon, Wine Enthusiast , April 1, 2025) Medium-bodied & Fruity 394288 (XD) 750 ml $18.95 2
