STONEHAVEN RESERVE CABERNET SAUVIGNON

Coonawarra, South Australia Sourced from adjacent rows of 40yo vines using archetypal cabernet vinification. Hand-pruned to control the yield to 5t/ha; cold maceration and pressed directly to oak for 18 months in French hogsheads. This is a seriously good cabernet that has taken full advantage of an excellent vintage courtesy of skilled vinification by winemaker Ben Wurst. Its length is exceptional, as is its structure and slinky tannins, part fruit, part oak. Drink from: 2025. Drink by: 2045. Special Value. Score: 97 (James Halliday, winecompanion.com.au, Nov. 13, 2023) Full-bodied & Firm 49433 (XD) 750 ml $29.95 2 Featured in Hand-Picked Gifts

DANDELION TREASURE TROVE OF McLAREN VALE GRENACHE McLaren Vale, South Australia Treasure Trove Grenache is sourced from Firehawk Farm: a single biodynamically tended vineyard perched atop an ancient ridge over looking McLaren Vale. The wine spent 12 months in French oak, which served to enhance its velvety texture. It’s overflowing with ripe cherry, fruit punch and fresh raspberry, with a lovely smoky flourish. Full-bodied & Smooth 49850 (XD) 750 ml $24.95 2 Featured in Glou Glou Summer ... fine value Pinot Noir, the team include a very small portion of whole bunches to enhance the complexity. Maturation is in large format oak. The fruit is sourced from the Limestone Coast and Adelaide Hills. Maroon/magenta, the nose gives us notes of warm earth, cherries, wild raspberries and wood smoke. Of medium length, there is a supple texture with good balance here. There is good freshness and energy. Perhaps for earlier drinking than some, the next two to three years would be ideal. Drink by: 2025-2028. HUIA SAUVIGNON BLANC

SISTER’S RUN OLD TESTAMENT CABERNET SAUVIGNON Coonawarra, South Australia (Curt Evans)

Marlborough, South Island A lovely example with a core of ripeness and freshness, aromas and flavours of pear and white peach, citrus peel and gooseberry. A dry wine touches the palate first with a decent backbone of acidity to contrast the core fruit flavours that reflect the bouquet. A mineral flinty quality, some honeysuckle and lick of white spice all layer onto the palate nicely. Best drinking from 2024 through 2029. Excellent. Score: 94 (Cameron Douglas, MS, camdouglasms.com, Dec. 9, 2024) Aromatic & Flavourful 659979 (XD) 750 ml $21.95 2 4 Organic product

Inky hued, this is a densely packed Cab with concentrated black and red berry fruit, licorice, cedar and winter warming spice behind. It’s as rich and mouth-filling on the palate as the color and aromas suggest, but with a lovely lift of tangy acidity to balance chiseled, powerful tannins. Best Buy. [Drink through 2027+.] Score: 91 (Christina Pickard, Wine Enthusiast , Dec. 1, 2024) Full-bodied & Firm 478271 (XD) 750 ml $19.95 2
