Having grown up in a small town just outside Niagara, Silverthorne has always loved the region. After graduating from Niagara College, she did stints at multiple local wineries, starting as a lab technician and harvest hand before working her way up to winemaking. She joined Konzelmann Estate Winery in Niagara-on-the-Lake as winemaker in 2021.

Growing up on a farm in the Blue Mountains, McKean developed a lifelong love of Ontario’s emerging agricultural regions. After graduating from Niagara College, she spent a decade as the founding winemaker at Georgian Hills Vine yards before joining Adamo Estate in the scenic Hockley Valley north of Toronto. She credits pioneering local women wine makers for encouraging her to join the industry; now, she’s encouraging others.
