PACHA MAMA PINOT NOIR Yarra Valley, Victoria The majority of this blend comes from a vineyard planted in Cottles Bridge in ‘94. Like last year’s version, this is a touch closed, before revealing aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry and floral notes as it opens up. The medium bodied and gently savoury palate has good depth, with balanced, gently grippy and persistent tannins in support. It’s good now but will be even better 12-24 months from now. Nicely done. Cabernet sauvignon from high up in the Eden Valley, around 550m above sea level. Deep crimson and a touch broody on the nose with deepset blackberry, blackcurrant and black cherry fruits. Hints of blackberry conserve, mixed spice, sage, bay leaf, licorice, blackforest cake, cedar and crushed stone.
