Delicate but lofty lees keep the fruit afloat on the palate that is marked by flavours of cranberry, cherry, lavender, thyme and chalky minerality. This wine was made via the spinning cone tech nique, which removes alcohol using low-vacuum distillation without impacting aroma or flavour. This would be the sixth official review of a South African icon for traditional method sparkling wine still gifted at a ridiculously low price. So much energy and so little time because the bottle will surely disappear before you focus on all the matters bottled within. They are multifold, multifarious and many-splendoured. The fruit matches the phenolics in 2025, a two-part attribute that will appeal to a much wider audience this time around. Drink 2025 2029. Last tasted November 2025. Score: 91

I like the biscuit and brioche aromas here. Some fig, walnut and apple crumble, too. It’s rich and creamy with delicious, toasty undertones. Rounded yet very fresh finish. Disgorged in 2023. It reveals very attractive aromas of toasted brioche, raspberry, lavender, and black cherry, and it is dry and inviting, with pure red fruits that fill the palate, with its florality lasting long after the finish, with a cleansing lift of salinity. Pleasant aromas combining white flowers, meadow flowers, and a hint of citrus. On the palate, the rather generous effervescence is combined with a taut structure, and the flavours echo the aromas found on the nose. A brut crafted for the table.
