Wickedly fresh and floral ... blossoms with a whiff of dried flowers and sweet smoke, giving way to nuances [of] lemon curd. This is sharply defined and crisp, with zesty acidity and hints of sour citrus complementing a vivid green apple tang. LANGHAM CULVER CLASSIC CUVÉE EXTRA BRUT SPARKLING Dorset, England, traditional method

Exquisite sparkler, from Langham’s own estate vineyard deep in Thomas Hardy country near Dorchester. The latest release is based on the 2019 vintage. Bone dry, but not sour in the least, it delivers light baked apple, fresh apricot and toasty notes and has the gentle, tiny but busy mousse which this winery excels at. 14 months spent on lees, it’s delicious with seafood, especially crab.
