DOC, Portugal Deep amber-coloured, this raisined moscato has intense flavours and plush, sweet palate, a real tour-de-force of flavours at this price to be sure. Balance is excellent and this is a remarkably good, clean, well-made wine for the money. I’d be pouring this by the glass at my imaginary wine bar, and garnering many smiles. Tasted January 2026. ARMENIA POMEGRANATE SEMISWEET* Aragatsotn, Armenia (Armenia Wine Company) I am a pomegranate fan, and this pale, medium sweet fruit wine captures impressive pome granate authenticity – red fruit, pithy/seediness and considerable, pyrazinic greens and black pepper. It is medium bodied with some warmth, modest tannin and very good length. Chill fairly well. I would search for moderately spicy Mediterranean food pairings, rather than sipping solo. ... 100% Vidal, the very last of the original vines that the Lailey family planted at the estate at the behest of Karl Kaiser and Inniskillin. A small dosage of Vidal icewine was included ... The nose shows peach, fresh lemon slices, melba toast and green apple with a brisk, sustained bead in the glass. The palate reveals toasty/ creamy notes, rounded, subtly sweet notes of peach, apple and citrus with a gentle bubble and a clean, fresh finish. A nice, easy-drinking sparkling wine.
