Comprising specially selected barrels of 35% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Syrah, this complex, engaging wine is a nice mix of charming and bold. It shows well-defined ripe dark berry, cherry, cassis, cedar, vanilla, and oak spice, with some chocolate rounding out the aromas and flavours. VQA Lincoln Lakeshore, Niagara Peninsula Made using Merlot harvested from the Stouck Vineyard in Lincoln Lakeshore, this wine was vinified in stainless steel before spending 18 months in oak barrels. It’s smooth and elegant, with notes of dark cherry, redcurrant and plum, satiny tannins, and a lingering mineral undertone.

The wine was fermented with wild yeast ... and aged 18 months in French oak barriques and puncheons (47% new) ... aromas of black currant and dark cherry mingled with spice and subtle hints of oak. On the palate, the wine is rich and generous with flavours of red currant, dark cherry and plum. A portion of the wine was allowed to age a few days in the opened bottle; it beca me richer and more polished, indicating how well the wine will age.
