SWEET & SOUR

Make a sweet, citrusy glaze by

mixing an orange flavoured liqueur like Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge (LCBO 1784, $52.55) or a lemon flavoured liqueur, such as Luxardo Limoncello (LCBO 28011, $29.95) with icing sugar. Use a ratio of 3 to 4 tbsp (45 to 60 mL) liqueur for every 1 cup (250 mL) icing sugar, and whisk the two together until smooth. Drizzle or spread the glaze over a loaf, cake or other baked good that could benefit from a hint of sweet- sour flavour.

› Mix in chopped, dried peaches and Dr. McGillicuddy’s Intense Peach (LCBO 398024, 1,140 mL, $29.95).

sweet flavour, such as fresh orange slices with orange-flavoured Bols Triple Sec (LCBO 527705, $18.55) or cherries with Jim Beam Red Stag (LCBO 18575, $31.10).

BEST BOWLS Take your after-dinner fruit bowl up a notch by infusing it with a sweet liqueur. Chop up your favourite fruit and put it in a bowl. Drizzle with liqueur, then let the mixture marinate for an hour or two. › Stick with same-fruit pairings to bring out your bowl’s natural

TRUFFLE SHUFFLE Play with different fruit plus fruit-liqueur pairings in no-bake truffles from our recipe archives: simply swap out the dried cherries and cherry liqueur that are called for in the recipe for a combo that suits your tastes.

flavour combinations, such as strawberries with hazelnut-flavoured
