WINTER VANILLA & SAGE PALOMA A refreshing grapefruit Paloma with a wintery twist! Elevate your mocktail game this holiday season with a simple homemade syrup infused with sage and vanilla bean. VANILLA & SAGE SIMPLE SYRUP 1/2 cup (125 mL) sugar 1/2 cup (125 mL) water 4 sage leaves, roughly chopped 1/2 vanilla bean, split MOCKTAIL 2 oz grapefruit juice, freshly squeezed 1/2 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed 1 oz vanilla & sage simple syrup 1 pinch salt 2 oz grapefruit sparkling water Sliced grapefruit to garnish Sage sprig to garnish 1. For the simple syrup, in a saucepan over medium heat stir together sugar, water, sage and vanilla bean. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat. Let stand 15 minutes at room temperature before straining. Refrigerate until ready to use, up to 1 week. 2. In a cocktail glass filled with ice add the grapefruit juice, lime juice, simple syrup and salt. Stir to combine. Finish with grapefruit

TURMERIC & GINGER PINA COLADA This creamy snow-day Pina Colada includes a kick of fresh ginger and turmeric. It’s vegan friendly, too! Be sure to use canned coconut cream to yield the proper creamy consistency. 1/2 cup (125 mL) frozen pineapple chunks 1/2 cup (125 mL) cubed ice 1/2 cup (125 mL) pineapple juice 3 tbsp (45 mL) canned coconut cream 2 tbsp (30 mL) agave syrup 1 tsp (5 mL) freshly grated ginger 1 tsp (5 mL) freshly grated turmeric Shredded coconut for rimming Pineapple wedge to garnish Rosemary sprig to garnish 1. To a blender, add pineapple chunks, ice, pineapple juice, coconut cream, agave syrup, ginger and turmeric. Purée until creamy and smooth. Rim serving glass with shredded coconut and transfer mixture to serving glass. Garnish with a wedge of pineapple and rosemary sprig. Makes 4 to 6 drinks

SPICY WINTER CITRUS REFRESHER

It’s not often you see clementines in a cocktail, but is it really the holiday season without this must have winter citrus? This mocktail has the unexpected addition of spice from the jalapeño-infused simple syrup and makes for a wonderful addition to a holiday brunch, too. JALAPEÑO SIMPLE SYRUP 1/2 cup (125 mL) sugar 1/2 cup (125 mL) water 1 small jalapeño, seeded and sliced MOCKTAIL 1 oz jalapeño simple syrup 2 oz clementine juice, freshly squeezed 1 oz orange juice, freshly squeezed 1/2 oz lime juice, freshly squeezed 2 oz club soda Lime wheel to garnish Clementine wedge to garnish Sliced jalapeño to garnish 1. For the simple syrup, in a saucepan over medium heat, stir together sugar, water and jalapeño. Bring to a simmer and remove from heat. Let stand 15 minutes at room temperature before straining. Refrigerate until ready to use, up to 1 week.

POMEGRANATE MOJITO The addition of pomegranate juice yields the perfect blend of sweet and tart in this easy-to-make Mojito-inspired mocktail. Festive enough to serve over the holiday season, but a wonderful year-round drink as well!
