HOW TO PACK A COOLER

Pre-chill drinks. Place a frozen 9 x 13-inch pan of ice or plastic water jug on the bottom. Lay the heaviest glass bottles on bottom; top with cube ice and a handful of rock salt. Horizontally layer cans and plastic bottles, giving each layer a mixed assortment.

After each layer, add cube ice and shake cooler to settle. Lay bagged cocktail ice on top. Garnishes, speared on picks, go in plastic containers. Pack a bottle opener, too!
