LCBO Food & Drink Summer 2025

Feathered Friends When “chicken wine” blew up on social media, it must have surprised the French winery in the Rhône that’s been making La Vieille Ferme Luberon Blanc AOC (LCBO 298505, $13.85) under its famous label since the 1970s. Another bird may well be waiting in the wings to be the next social media star, namely, Magnotta’s utterly loveable Ugly Duck White (LCBO 39311, $12.95), a cleverly designed, light weight-cardboard wine bottle with a low carbon impact.

Doggos! Even cat people are likely to be charmed by this pair of canine-themed wines, especially since the first, Not Guilty (LCBO 38986, $10.95), is a dealcoholized Pinot Grigio, making it perfect for folks committed to early morning puppy walks. For a Prince Edward County winery whose entire identity is based on doggos, the label on Three Dog Winery Dog House Red VQA (LCBO 438937, $15.95) is under stated, but totally cute.

DID YOU KNOW? More than 25 years ago, Le Fat Bastard Chardonnay Pays D’Oc (LCBO 563130, $15.00) was one of the first French critter wines, with a friendly-looking hippo referencing the wine’s full-bodied nature.
