BABICH WINEMAKER’S RESERVE BARREL FERMENTED SAUVIGNON BLANC 2024 Marlborough, South Island, sustainable Layered and flavorful, offering nectarines, grapefruit pith and white blossoms with some nutty complexity in the background. Medium-bodied and crisp yet with a round texture and a mellow core of fruit. Juicy and lingering. Sustainable. Drink now. Score: 91 (jamessuckling.com, Oct. 5, 2025) Aromatic & Flavourful 656629 (XD) 750 ml $29.95 1 Featured in Wine Wonders of New Zealand Here’s a wine that takes advantage of the naturally warmer conditions in Hawke’s Bay after a hot and dry summer, which resulted in some of the best quality grapes for some time ... after fermentation ageing on full lees in French oak and then heading through malolactic fermentation before bottling ... The nose shows some obvious stone fruit but a lifted cutting edge of red apple and lemon meringue. It has a smooth, creamy, rich texture, and it’s the type of wine you find yourself gravitating to time after time. An impressive, generous full-flavoured Chardonnay likely to appeal to those who prefer a little bit of grunt in their white wines. Drink by: 20252030. Score: 93 (Ray Jordan, winepilot.com, July 2025) Full-bodied & Rich 10020 (XD) 750 ml $19.95 2 Featured in Wine Wonders of New Zealand HÃHÃ HAWKE’S BAY CHARDONNAY 2024 Hawke’s Bay, North Island, sustainable INVIVO X, BY SARAH JESSICA PARKER BLEND 7 SAUVIGNON BLANC 2025 Marlborough, South Island, sustainable This has a grassy, lightly candied character with aromas of lemon drops, tarragon and citrus leaves. MITOLO JESTER CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2021 McLaren Vale, South Australia
From source blocks in the Sellicks Hill district, just south of the Aldinga Airstrip. The locals call the area Whites Valley. Ocean breezes from the nearby Gulf St Vincent are a great help in tempering the fruit to deliver its best self to the bottle – Cabernet loves a nearby ocean. So there is good varietal character, crushed black berries and tobacco leaf to entice, liqueured fruit cake, dark chocolate, rich plum compote...all held together with neatly retained acidity to keep things juicy and lively in the palate. Varietal tannins arrive midway to keep the wine tight and focused. Definite regional/site expression gives this Cabernet a personal identity. Score: 92 (Tony Love, winepilot.com, Feb. 2025)
