KONO SOUTH ISLAND PINOT NOIR 2022 South Island, sustainable Matured in French oak, this finely integrated, elegant Pinot Noir brings layers of red berry and spice, with hints of wild thyme. Persistent, balanced finish. There’s plenty of appealing dark cherry and blackberry fruit notes here, too. A lovely lift of acidity, fine, savory tannins, violets and and tangy blue and blackberry fruit linger to a long finish. SOUTH AFRICA WHITE WINE RADFORD DALE VINUM CHENIN BLANC 2023 WO Stellenbosch, vegan Grapes from the same Lynedoch vineyard planted in 1969 that supplies Radford Dale’s top-end Renaissance bottling. 40% matured in foudre, the rest in a combination of 228-, 300- and 500-litre barrels. Citrus, peach and just the right amount of leesy, waxy complexity on the nose. Great fruit concentration, punchy acidity and pithy, slightly bitter finish. MULDERBOSCH FAITHFUL HOUND 2023 WO Stellenbosch Blueberry and chocolate-orange aromas follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate with medium-chewy tannins. Juicy fruit. A blend of 44% cabernet sauvignon, 26% merlot, 15% cabernet franc, 11% petit verdot and 4% malbec. Drink in 2026 [through 2030+].
